The Spice Inn in Haughton Green has been ‘Highly Commended’ in the prestigious Tiffin Cup competition. The Spice Inn will receive a certificate and embroidered Tiffin Cup 2013 chef jacket to mark their achievement in this year’s competition.
Overall the Tiffin Cup champion will be chosen from a shortlist of national restaurants, each representing their region of Britain, on Tuesday 2nd July 2013 in the Grand Final cook-off in the House of Commons. The Spice Inn restaurant was nominated by Andrew Gwynne MP, and was one of the hundreds from across the UK to be entered into the annual contest.
Chair of the Tiffin Club, Keith Vaz MP, said:
“We are delighted that the Spice Inn has been ‘Highly Commended’ in the Tiffin Cup. This is a great tribute not just to the nomination of the local MP Andrew Gwynne, but also to the constituency of Denton and Reddish as a whole.”
Denton’s MP Andrew Gwynne said:
“I am delighted that the Spice Inn has been ‘Highly Commended’ in the Tiffin Cup. It is unfortunate that they did not manage to reach the Grand Final, but this is such a prestigious award and to be honoured in this way is a testament to the fantastic efforts of all the staff.”
