This new independently-run business, which is located at 7 Manchester Road in Denton, has been doing a roaring trade since it opened its doors a few weeks ago. In fact, it proved so popular at the recent ‘Party in the Park’ event organised by Denton Town Team it had sold out by mid-afternoon!
Andrew Gwynne MP, who officially opened the shop this week, said:
“I am delighted to welcome Sweet Express to Denton.
“I want to see a thriving, vibrant high street in our town and to achieve that it’s vital that some of the empty shops are brought back into use. That’s why it’s great to see this new businesses opening at Crown Point and it’s a welcome addition to the variety of shops already available locally.
“I wish Jay, Jack, Abdul and the team every success. I am already a regular customer and aim to work my way through the menu!”
Bill Jennings, chair of Denton Town Team said:
“Denton Town Team have been working behind the scenes to make Denton a better place to live, work and play.
“One of the main aims is to get the shops open again, so it’s fantastic news that it’s already working. We wish all the team ‘sweet success’!”
Jay, Jack and Abdul from Sweet Express said:
“We’re local lads, bringing local people together in Denton. It’s good for other local businesses in the Town Centre and it’s good for the community.”
