New Charter Homes and Denton Community College worked together to hold a free fun day to bring the community together this weekend.
Representatives from Greater Manchester Police, the fire service and the NHS all attended the day organised by the housing association and college, between 11am and 3pm, to give a taste of what they do in the community.
The college showcased its literacy and numeracy courses and the fire service and Greater Manchester Police spoke about their roles in the community. There were also a number of local service providers and businesses showcasing their work and live displays from activity groups. Denton and Reddish MP Andrew Gwynne also took part in the fun.
New Charter Homes are the only housing association that took part. Residents were invited down for a day of fun for all the family – from jewellery making for the children to Zumba classes for the grownups. There was also over 30 arts and crafts stalls for people to enjoy. The activities were all in the name of social inclusion to build strong relationships between residents and the service providers that they use.
