SPICE INN Highly Commended in 2013 Tiffin Cup

spice inn awardsThe Spice Inn Indian Restaurant in Haughton Green has been ‘Highly Commended’ in the prestigious Tiffin Cup competition.

The Spice Inn received a special House of Commons certificate and embroidered Tiffin Cup 2013 chef jacket to mark their achievement in this year’s competition from local MP, Andrew Gwynne. Denton South Councillor, Claire Francis also joined the MP at the granting of this special award.

Overall the Tiffin Cup champion was chosen from a shortlist of national restaurants, each representing their region of Britain in the Grand Final cook-off in the House of Commons.

The Spice Inn restaurant was nominated by Andrew Gwynne MP, and was one of the hundreds from across the UK to be entered into the annual contest.

Chair of the Tiffin Club, Keith Vaz MP, said:

“We are delighted that the Spice Inn was Highly Commended in the Tiffin Cup. This is a great tribute not just to the nomination of the local MP Andrew Gwynne, but also to the constituency of Denton and Reddish as a whole.”

Local MP Andrew Gwynne said:

“I am delighted that the Spice Inn was Highly Commended in the Tiffin Cup. It is such a prestigious award and to be honoured in this way is a testament to the fantastic efforts of all the staff.”
