Commenting on the combined information that 1,600 officers at NHS England have been given iPhones and that NHS England and its outposts have also spent £6m+ on spin doctors since last October, Andrew Gwynne MP, Labour’s Shadow Health Minister, said:
“David Cameron took billions away from patient care to blow on a top-down re-organisation of the NHS. Now he’s handing smartphones to this new army of bureaucrats.
“Cameron’s spending millions on new spin doctors when half of all wards don’t have enough nurses. Over five thousand nursing jobs have been axed since the election. He needs to cut the spin and get a grip.
“This is further proof you can’t trust the Tories with the NHS.”
