Brewers Martin Wood and Samantha Halfyard were invited by Reddish MP Andrew Gwynne. They travelled from their base at The Hope Inn on Wellington Road North to meet MPs and to visit Parliament.

Both Martin and Sam have worked in the pub trade for several years. Martin has 25 years under his belt, winning CAMRA Pub of The Year three times at two different venues, and CAMRA Cider Pub of The Year once, amongst other awards. Sam has 7 years in the trade, working closely alongside Martin.

Andrew Gwynne MP said:

“It was a real pleasure to help Fool Hardy launch ‘Rash’ in Westminster. One of my most important duties is promoting small and medium sized businesses from Stockport and Tameside whenever I get the chance, and inviting Martin and Sam to have their beer served in Westminster’s bar was just one way to do it.

“It went down a treat with my colleagues, and I encourage all residents to pay a visit to The Hope Inn.”

“We really enjoyed heading down to London to pull a few pints of ‘Rash’ for MPs from across the country.

“It went down well, and it was a real vote of confidence in some of Stockport’s finest ale.

“Taking our beer to Westminster was a real privilege. Our thanks go to Andrew Gwynne for recommending us to the Strangers’ Bar.”
