ReddFest has grown each year as a community focal point for the town, and this year’s event saw lots of stalls, activities and entertainment take place around Houldsworth Square.
Andrew Gwynne MP said:
“ReddFest is such a great event, and even the sun shone for us this year.
“It’s great to see so many people pack into Houldsworth Square to celebrate the best of Reddish. There were some great acts, and it’s fantastic to see all the lock community groups out in force too.
“A big congratulations to Cllr Kate Butler, Carole Rigby, Danielle McFarlane, Alan Yates, Vincent Mather and everyone else who helped to make the day so much fun. Here’s to next year!”
Andrew took the opportunity to show his support for some of the local groups in Reddish, such as the charity, Re:dish, which helps families with food, furniture and other help.
The MP also showed his support for the Friends of Reddish Vale Country Park, who do so much to conserve and improve the Vale as a vital natural community asset.
Finally, he paid a visit to the Friends of Reddish South railway station, who had their stall on the station platform itself. Andrew is working with the Friends Group and the Councillors to try and secure a proper railway service at Reddish South.
