Denton and Reddish MP Andrew Gwynne joined local charity activist Ashley Spires at this year’s Diabetes UK Big Collection. The collection took place over two days at Tesco’s Portwood store in Stockport.
The events were part of a national scheme which helps to raise as much money as possible to support those who are suffering from diabetes.
The event was a huge success – a total of £675.76 was raised in the Portwood store over the weekend.
Andrew Gwynne MP said:
“This mammoth effort gets more impressive every year, and I was delighted to be able to join Ashley at the Stockport collection and help out.
“It might be one part of a nationwide effort, but it is the time that people like Ashley and his family put in that adds up to Diabetes UK being able to make life a little easier for those that suffer from diabetes.”
