DENTON CARNIVAL: Call for help

denton-carnival-5Denton and Reddish MP Andrew Gwynne has called on local residents to volunteer to help at the annual Denton Carnival, which will be held on Sunday 11th September.

There are opportunities to marshal traffic – which is now done by volunteers, and not police – and to put together a float with local groups or organisations.

There are also spaces for arts and crafts stalls in Victoria Park and on the civic square.

Those interested in taking part should contact Margaret Williams at Thackeray’s Books at or 0161 320 4220.

Andrew Gwynne MP said:

“Denton Carnival is one of my favourite local events, and it is only so brilliant because of the hardworking volunteers who give up their time to help.

“If you want to marshal traffic, set up a stall, put together a float, or come along with your band, quirky vehicle, walking group or costume, please do get in touch with Margaret.

“Even if you don’t want to join the parade, come along and watch. There will be entertainment, refreshments and a funfair!”
