Denton Carnival Steering Committee has called for the local community’s support ahead of the group’s AGM next week.

Several people have come forward with offers of help following the steering group’s initial meeting earlier this month, but more needs to be done to ensure this year’s carnival is the biggest and best, ever.

The AGM will be held at 7PM on Thursday 1 February at Gibson’s Dance Academy, with those wishing to attend virtually being able to do so by emailing GwynneA@parliament.uk.

Andrew Gwynne, MP for Denton & Reddish, and member of the Steering Committee, said:

“Denton Carnival gives so much to our local community, but it can only do so thanks to the dedication and hard work of volunteers.

“Formalising the work of the committee at the AGM will ensure we can start putting concrete plans in place to deliver a fantastic carnival in 2024 after years of disruption.

“Time is fast ticking away, and I would urge any of those who want to get stuck in to come and join us!”
