Andrew Gwynne, MP for Denton and Reddish, is encouraging constituents to check if their washing machine needs to be recalled over safety risks.

Safety risks have been identified in certain models of Hotpoint and Indesit washing machines and Whirlpool is urging anyone who bought one since 2014 to contact them immediately to check if their washing machine is one of the models affected.

Washing machine owners can instantly check if their washing machine is affected by visiting washingmachinerecall.whirlpool.co.uk or by calling Whirpool’s freephone hotline 0800 316 1442.

Andrew Gwynne said:

“We all want our homes to be as safe as possible and that means making sure that all of our home appliances are safe too.

“If you’ve bought a Hotpoint or Indesit washing machine since 2014, I’d urge you to check with Whirlpool whether your washing machine is one of the models affected so that they can organise a replacement.”
