Andrew Gwynne, MP for Denton and Reddish, is reminding residents to get involved with ‘The Big Lunch’, which is even bigger this year thanks to Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Big Lunch is an annual initiative organised by the Eden Project and backed by the National Lottery. Since starting in 2009, it has brought millions of people together across the UK to celebrate with neighbours and community.

This year, however, is extra special as The Big Jubilee Lunch is an official part of the celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Over 12 Million people are expected to celebrate with a Big Jubilee Lunch in their communities.

Commenting on the Big Jubilee Lunch, Andrew Gwynne said:

“I’ve backed the Big Lunch for many years now, so it’s fantastic to see it becoming an official part of the celebrations for these historic Jubilee Celebrations.

It’s not too late to get involved, and the Big Lunch will run throughout the whole of July.

I’d encourage anyone across Denton and Reddish to get involved, it’s an amazing way to bring communities together this summer!”
