Andrew Gwynne, MP for Denton and Reddish, is calling on people to donate to the Eve Appeal amid event cancellations.

In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, it appears that everything is grinding to a halt. Businesses are sending staff home, holidays are being cancelled and events across the board are now indefinitely postponed. This is understandable.

Unfortunately, these cancellations include several events held by the Eve Appeal, alongside bake sales and bucket collections hosted by supporters, all of which would have brought in vital income for research.

58 women and their loved ones heard the devastating news that “it’s cancer” yesterday. The Eve Appeal are going to continue to be there for women with gynaecological cancers through the nurse-led information service Ask Eve. However, there is a very real concern that less research is going to be funded over the coming months of uncertainty.

The Eve Appeal’s dedicated researchers put their all into finding ways to save women’s lives and stop cancer before it starts. It is being asked that people donate to the Eve Appeal today to ensure that this important research continues to receive the funding it so desperately needs.

Andrew Gwynne MP said:

“The Eve Appeal do amazing work for women with gynaecological cancers and their loved ones, from providing nurse-led information and support to researching how we can stop this dreadful disease.

“If you can, please donate to the Eve Appeal so that they can continue to be there for the women who need them.

“They need your help now more than ever because no matter what happens over the next few months, cancer won’t stop.”
