Andrew Gwynne, MP for Denton and Reddish, has encouraged all of his constituents to register to vote ahead of the upcoming General Election.
This week, Parliament voted to hold an early general election on Thursday 12th December. To vote in that General Election, voters must be registered by midnight on Tuesday 26th November.
You can register to vote online via the Government’s website. It usually takes about 5 minutes.
To vote in the General Election you will need to be:
- 18 or older on Thursday 12th December.
- A British, Irish or Commonwealth citizen with a permanent UK address.
You can also apply to vote by post. To do this, you’ll need to register to vote before 5pm on Tuesday 26th November.
Andrew Gwynne said:
“Whoever you’ll be voting for in December, make sure you’re registered to vote so that you can have your say on how our country is run.
“It’s a winter election, so it’s likely to be cold and dark, and some may prefer to apply for a postal ballot.”
