Andrew Gwynne, MP for Denton and Reddish, is supporting Tameside Council’s #ItWorks campaign to support residents in understanding how best to protect themselves and their communities as lockdown eases.

The key messages of the #ItWorks campaign are to:

1. keep your social distance
2. wash your hands regularly
3. self-isolate if you have symptoms or are identified as a close contact
4. to wear a face covering.

The Council has is able to provide assets including leaflets and posters in English, Urdu, Guajarati, Bengali and Polish as well as easy read version of materials, and has sent text messages to 17,000 of the Borough’s most vulnerable residents.

To spread the message, Tameside Council is asking residents to share their face covering selfies using the hashtag #ItWorks.

Andrew Gwynne said:

“Lockdown may be easing, but Coronavirus has not disappeared, so we still need to take great care and do what we can to stop the virus from spreading.

“Keeping our distance, washing our hands regularly, self-isolating if necessary and wearing face coverings are still the best things that we can do to keep each other safe.”
