Andrew Gwynne, MP for Denton and Reddish, is encouraging local schools to enter the 2020/21 Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Awards.

Each year, Kellogg’s celebrate the achievements of breakfast clubs across the UK via their national awards.

The aim of this year’s Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Awards is to recognise schools all over the UK for the incredible role they have played to educate and safeguard children throughout this pandemic.

Kellogg’s wants to hear about how schools went above and beyond to ensure children had everything they needed during lockdown, including breakfast, and would also like to know more about how schools adapted breakfast club provision in September to meet new COVID safe guidelines.

There are 12 regional categories across the UK and winners will receive £1,000 for their club.

Andrew Gwynne said:

“School breakfast clubs make a really important contribution for both children and families.

“This year has been particularly difficult and so I think it’s more important than ever to recognise and celebrate the contribution of breakfast clubs.

“I’d encourage schools across Audenshaw, Denton, Dukinfield, Reddish and the Heatons to enter this year’s awards.”

Kate Prince of Kellogg’s said:

“We want to hear about how schools went above and beyond to ensure children had everything they needed during lockdown, including breakfast.

“We would also like to know more about how schools adapted breakfast club provision in September to meet new COVID safe guidelines.

“While we won’t be organising an awards ceremony this year due to COVID restrictions, we will make sure schools are able to celebrate in style from the safety of the school by sending out special breakfast club party packs!”

Entries close on Friday 15th January 2021. Shortlists will be announced on 25th January and the winning schools will be notified by email and phone on Monday 8th February. More details are available at: Breakfast Club Awards 2020 | Kellogg’s
