festivalDenton and Reddish MP, Andrew Gwynne, has joined nominees from across the country in the annual Festival of Learning celebration in Parliament, the biggest celebration of lifelong learning in England.

The organisations mission is to highlight the benefits of learning, celebrate achievements of adults who have used learning to transform their lives, and to encourage everyone to embrace lifelong learning.

Award nominations for 2018 are now open covering individual learners, employers, tutors, and individual projects. Previous winners include Talk English, 2017 National Winner, which helps people with low levels of English language skills to improve their spoken and written communication skills and become more involved in the community. So far, Talk English volunteers have supported more than 16,500 adults learning English.

Andrew Gwynne said:

“I was thrilled to join colleagues and friends for a celebration of lifelong learning in England.

“We have to start getting serious about how we can upskill our population and these awards are a great way to reward those organisations and individuals who do so much to help people access learning options.”
