Denton and Reddish MP, Andrew Gwynne, has advised constituents to hop on board and celebrate Catch the Bus Week – an industry-wide initiative being supported by sustainable transport group Greener Journeys, which urges people to try using the bus instead of their car for certain journeys.
Catch the Bus Week (CTBW) is a unique and fun initiative to show people the benefits of taking the bus and a chance to profile bus services all over the country, which can hopefully lead to long term travel change. Britain has a valuable opportunity to harness the potential of the bus, to make the economy stronger, help the job market work better and to build a more inclusive society.
3.5 million people throughout Britain travel to work by bus. For many, the bus is a vital lifeline, an affordable and accessible form of transport and for all it is a great and easy way to travel.
During Catch the Bus Week, which takes place 2-8 July, Arriva are giving away an incredible 1,000 FREE CTBW Day Saver m-tickets to encourage people to get on board.

Andrew Gwynne said:
“Catch the Bus Week is an important initiative as buses are vital for connecting people, communities, homes and businesses. I warmly encourage commuters to try the bus this week.
“I really hope that the campaign grows from strength to strength in the near future as more and more people realise the potential of the bus.”
