Andrew Gwynne, MP for Denton and Reddish, is commemorating the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe with the UK Parliament archives ahead of Victory in Europe Day on 8 May.
UK Parliament have put together a UK Parliament and World War II Hub. The Hub looks at the impact World War II had upon Parliament.
It features stories and information about:
- Bomb damage to Parliament
- Key parliamentarians during the war
- Memorials to members and staff from the House of Commons and the House of Lords
- Wartime legislation
The Hub is accompanied by historical and educational resource packs for primary and secondary school pupils. Children are able to explore the World War II history of the UK Parliament, remembering and commemorating those who sadly lost their lives.
The resource packs can be accessed from home.
