Andrew Gwynne, MP for Denton and Reddish, is encouraging carers in Stockport to attend an online event on Carers Rights Day this Thursday.
This year Signpost Stockport for Carers will be hosting an online event for working carers in Stockport who would like to know more about their rights in the workplace, and gain some tips on assertiveness. Carers and former carers looking to return to work, and people interested to learn more about the topic, are of course welcome to join.
Signpost will be joined by two external guests and the event is being organised as part of their new three year ‘Work With Us’ project, which aims to support working carers and employers in Stockport. You can read more about the project here.
The event will be taking place on Zoom from 6-7.30pm and places can be booked on Eventbrite. You can find out more and register here.
Andrew Gwynne said:
“The Coronavirus crisis has had a huge impact on carers across the country, so there’s never been a more important time for carers to be informed and know their rights.
“It’s fantastic that Signpost Stockport for Carers have put on this virtual event for carers to mark Carers Rights Day and I’d encourage all carers in the borough to book a place and find out more.
“We should all be incredibly grateful to carers for the work that they do – including during this difficult time – and it’s vital that carers know their rights.”
